PAY ATTENTION, CLASSBecause we’re only going over this once.
This bugs me irl, so it definitely bugs me when I see it here on tumblr as well. I said earlier learn the difference between tagging and graffiti because there is a difference, BUT if we’re getting technical, tagging is graffiti… or at least a form of it.
Let’s go over some basic terms real quick..
Tag: I guess you could say it’s the most basic form of graff’. Pretty much it’s just a signature. A simple sign. Nothing else to really be said about it.
Throwup/Throwie: Look at the pic, that’s a throwup. A little bit more elaborate than a tag, but not quite a piece. They’re usually but not necessarily just bubble letters, and use like two colors at most. Like a bubble letter, the outline, then you fill it in. Simple bombs that you drop quickly then bounce.
Piece: Short for Masterpiece. Please, do NOT call these tags. A piece is the detailed work. The ones that take a cool long minute to do.  You should be able to tell the difference straight away. Usin’ multiple colors etc. Yea, you get it, right?
Burner: Burners are subjective and depend on your POV. Burner’s are the pieces that make you go DAAAAAMN!!! Like IMO, I post a lot of burners. Example
Simple, right?
Now, taggers vs writers
Tagger: Cats that are quick hitters. Quick bombers, drop their tags or throwies and bounce. They very rarely if ever do they piece it up. Usually the crazy homeboys that are tryin’ to throw up anywhere and everywhere.
Writer: Writers are graffiti artists most commonly used to refer to the artists that drop the big pieces.
Other shit
Bomb/Bombing: To bomb just means to go out there and drop anything. Tag, throwie, piece, etc. etc.
If you have any questions go ahead and ask. Otherwise, good night.
